...has arrived. Well sort of at least. The removalists get here first thing tomorrow morning. I am feeling well and truly exhausted by it all. We're mostly packed...there are some odds and ends here and there. Because we settle both properties (bought and sold) simultaneously there is no time leftover to clean either place, no time to make extra trips back to retrieve things left behind.
We have tried to get ourselves organised, but have been thwarted by yucky headcolds and a *very* demanding 7 mo old who insists that even moreso than on an ordinary day, she must be in arms, or at our side, at all times. Even though she is kindly sleeping at the moment, I can't really take advantage as all I want to do is join her. Given the amount of work I'm expecting at the other end, that would probably be a wise move on my part.
Sadly it may be a week or so (or more!) before we manage to get online - but in terms of getting stuff done/unpacked, that's probably for the best anyway.
So see you all in a bit :).

Every bit counts...
Everywhere I go in cyberspace, or even just on the news or in the paper, I am awed by the way people all over are chipping in to help those affected by the bushfires blazing in my home state. The Red Cross have already received over $30 million dollars, and this reportedly by just 200,000 people.
Along with all the items of food, clothing, toiletries etc going to relief centres for the survivors, blood donations for those recovering in hospital, and volunteers giving freely of their time (not to mention the sacrifices their families make so they can do so), there are also auctions, appeals etc going on all over the world. Despite the devastation, the tragedy, the horror of it all - it is truly amazing and inspiring to witness these charitable acts. Each one no matter how big or small, adds up to such a huge support for those who need it.
I could say it makes me proud to be an Australian, but the support is coming in from all over the world, and that actually makes me proud to be a human being.

What's new with you...?
Not much new with me. I'm spending a LOT of time procrastinating (which is just a fancy word for doing as little as possible really, isn't it?) We move the week after next, and I really should get a move on with the packing, but I'm just so uninspired at the moment.
The smallest girl is pulling up on furniture already (she'll be seven months on the 10th) and between feeding and refereeing the other two there isn't much time to do anything but hover! She's had a few of those head bonk type falls - and as awful as it is each and every time, the first one was the worst. I'm working very hard to try to teach her how to get herself down from places, and feet first etc (she tried to launch head first off the couch today). As I may live to regret these words, I'm actually hopeful she'll have command of her balance soon and walk sooner rather than later...

I have managed amidst the chaos to finish the first sock of my Noro lovelies and am into the second sock, trying desperately to avoid second sock syndrome.

Anyway life is quite mundane it seems right now, but I suspect that's a hormonal issue and I'll be bright and shiny happy again soon (or at least after we are moved and settled!)
